RIA is a WEB based application specifically designed for easy operation and appealing presentation, built upon conventional WEB technology, mainly HTML and WEB browser.

◆Importance of RIA

・WEB applications has improved substantially over the years. Online auctions and other consumer oriented sites have been pushing the envelope of WEB technology.

・As the necessary functions for Web applications becomes larger, the number of screens and data volume increases. So systems constructed using legacy technology like HTML start to have difficulty to meeting a client's demands. Also, as far as usability, traditional HTML applications are unable to display the information in a logical, appealing, or time-saving fashion.

◆Achievement method of RIA

・RIA is a concept, not a specific technology. Therefore, it can be applied to any computer language and system. Right now, the most popular RIA display engine is Adobe Flash.
Approximately 98% of all internet users have the Adobe Flash Player plug-in installed on their computer making Flash (and Flex) a practical choice of technology for developing RIA.
